Looking to build experience but not quite ready for the bareboat charter experience offered under Tiller Time? Maybe your looking to take advantage of Wednesday wind conditions. Ambassador Sailing is your best option on Tempe Town Lake. ASF & AYC have partnered up to offer sailing opportunities to qualified sailors who have completed an ASF course or are qualified members of the Arizona Yacht Club.
Sailing Ambassadors are available for a personalized sailing experience one on one, or one to two. See below for available Ambassadors and notes related to their schedule availability and preferred boat type.
Complete registration for a "Ticket" and we'll connect you with the selected Ambassador to schedule as best fits both of you. Please note All Ambassadors are volunteers and your $25 registration fees are used to cover the Tempe Town Lake event fees, boat registration fees, and associated costs.
BLACKOUT DATES: Ambassador sailing is NOT available on AYC Race or ASF Instruction Weekends published on the ASF/AYC Calendar. ASF Tiller Time and AYC Adopt-A-Boat options are open during those weekends.
Catalina 14.2, Sails 2, Vehicle Launched.
Debbie Huntsman- US Sailing Instructor, national leader in women's sailing, Debbie is available for a sail in good conditions on TTL and generally available.
John Tapernoux- Owner of a Laser 2, john is generally available and looks forward to getting more time in on the 14.2 while enjoying his handiwork. John manages the fleet maintenance for the Foundation as well. Thank you John!

Gordon Briner, AYC Member. Gordon is generally available and loves to sail. Available most days and times.
Robb Gibbs, AYC Member. Rob is a certified Instructor and avid Laser Racer. More available during the week, M-F. Generally unavailable on Weekends.
Matt Baker. Laser Fan, certified instructor, generally available during the later part of the week. Lets get out on the lake Thurs afternoons when the High School Class is on the water.
SUNFISH, Single Handed, Dolly Launched.
Bob is the AYC Sunfish Fleet Captain and very much enjoys Sunfish sailboats, whether racing them or pleasure sailing. His schedule is flexible, with availability throughout the week.
Opti, Open Skiff, Laser 4.7, Single Handed, Dolly Launched.
The kid boats can be done Father Son/Mother Daughter or Coach to Kid. Grab a ticket for one of the following and give them a call to work out the details-
Matt Baker- Laser 4.7, Opti, Open Skiff. Matt is an Instructor and regular volunteer with ASF youth along with his two sons, Logan-15 and Mason-14.
